When people start collecting home goods, what they end up buying is usually of sub-par quality—we're talking hand-me-downs and thrift store finds. What some don't realize is that IKEA offers affordable, stylish furniture. Once you do, you tend to rethink your relationship with the furniture you have.
I also received a cease and desist letter from IKEA’s lawyers for having this up on my site. So, you know, there’s that.
We really want to drive home the point that hand-me-downs and thrift store finds are less than, so our gift cards let you destroy something when you decide to buy something new.
We know that just having to get rid of old furniture is a barrier all of its own, so we'll give you the option to have our delivery service donate your old furniture to Goodwill when we drop your new purchase off.
The ultimate arena to prove our affordability and style isn't on our website, or Amazon, or even our own stores. It's Craigslist. Selling IKEA products on Craigslist pits us against the cheapest and the ugliest. Some may say that's an unfair fight, but then they could sell well-designed furniture for less, too.
